This year's conference studied the effects of globalization and asked: How can schools prepare students for work in a global/local economy? What roles do immigration and equity play in the globalization challenge for small and rural schools? Technology will play a key role in preparing for survival in the global economy: What preparation will students need? What possibilities/opportunities will they have as a result of globalization and information/communication technology? What is the role of the school in not only training the current work force but expanding global employment opportunities in rural areas?
Designed to showcase current work in Oklahoma renewable energy resources and to identify opportunities to attract and develop new technologies and manufacturing facilities for the state. This conference seeks to promote public interest through educational outreach and grassroots programs.
The U.S. Department of Education's most in-depth and comprehensive conference on education reform. Focused on the partnership between the U.S. Department of Education and the nation's educators, families and communities. Educators and friends of education gathered to discuss important educational issues and rethink current practices in education.
The Charter Schools National Conference provided a forum for the full spectrum of those involved with charter schools– students, parents and communities, charter school developers and staff, charter granting entities, local and state education agencies, policymakers, technical assistance providers, researchers, state and national charter organizations, and other support organizations.
